We've got another lovely interview her on the B&G Blog today! Our neighbours and friend at Lady B Loves take on our fun Q&A! With their fun boomerangs popping up on Instagram and there love of the Royal Arcade, its time to get to know them a little bit more! Even Fernando loves them! He does pick them well!
Lady B Loves shines a pleasant light onto vintage, when and why did you decide to make your shop a reality?
Aww that’s a super lovely way to put it ;0) Well its always been a dream of mine to have my very own shop where I could combine my passion for helping women feel amazing with my retail experience and my performance background. Lets say I had a rather momentous Birthday last year (rhymes with ‘naughty-th’) and decided I was giving myself a now or never ultimatum and ‘now’ won 😊 Vintage Re production style at Lady B Loves is all about colour and vibrance andappreciation for a woman’s natural shape. It embraces and celebrates the female form without being revealing, it doesn’t take itself too seriously and genuinely brings joy to peoples day with its fun prints and feel good fit. I want to bring a fun shopping experience to Norwich shoppers by creating a happy, buzzing, welcoming shop that you can’t wait to visit again. Full of hidden treasures that fit like a dream and our customers leave feeling and looking fabulous
Which patterns are you loving at the moment for vintage style? Tropical? Floral?
For me its always a tropical print. Full of colour with just a hint of pineapple and fling a Toucan in there too, I’m a happy girl! Our bestsellers for Summer were ANYTHING with a Flamingo on...there was definitely ‘Flamingo Fever’ this Summer which we loved and fully supported obviously ;0) As we are starting to head towards Autumn Floral prints on a darker background are becoming popular and we have some amazing Denim Dungarees that are absolutely flying out at the moment.
Definitely has to be spending quality time with my nearest and dearest. Whether its a lovely meal with a glass of wine, coffee and cake or playing on the 2p machines in Gt Yarmouth. I’m super blessed to have amazing, inspiring, adorable people in my life who I just can’t get enough of.
Favourite place to eat?
I loved Krasadis Greek Restaurant on Prince Of Wales Rd but as that’s closed now I would have to say Pedros Mexican Cantina in Norwich....those Nachos??? And I love it’s fun vibe and energy too. I’ve had some great parties in there with my girls x
Bright or Pastel?
Always bright........give me all the colour!!!
Probably ‘Who run the world – Girls’ by Beyonce. I know not what you’d expect hey? When it comes to me and music you’d maybe think that I’d say something a little more Vintage? Well......I love music that makes me FEEL something. Happy, sad, like dancing, motivated or like singing at the top of my lungs. So I have the broadest taste in music its really quite ridiculous. Its empowering for me this particular song and having been lucky enough to spend my life surrounded by strong women I love the passion in this song. Makes me want to grab my girls and say ‘Hell yeah, we’ve got this’.
Where does the name Lady B Loves come from?
My stage name was ‘Lady B’ at one point. The B is from my surname Bealey and the ‘Lady’ was given to me by my fellow dancers on one of our tours. Although I am born and bred in my beloved Norwich (Nozza) I was lucky enough to travel all over the world having Dancing & Singing adventures, in my late teens early twenties so have lost most of my Norfolk accent. Therefore considered to be a bit ‘posh’?!? So was awarded the title of ‘Lady’. Lady B Loves seemed like a perfect name for my shop!!
Any future plans for Lady B Loves? Pop Up shops or events?
Yes, yes and yes!! We have our 1st Birthday in October so are busy plotting a jolly old knees up for that. Well funny you should mention ‘Pop Up Shops’??? We are inundated with requests for Shoes, Kids & Mens Vintage too so we’re working hard to try and make at least two of those things happen in the next year, it’s all very exciting so watch this space
Top Celeb Crush!?
Well that’d be telling!!
